The world renowned tea house Fortnum & Mason were kind enough to host us ladies for their famous afternoon tea. We arrived to a stunning set up of pink roses and delicately placed table settings. We had a lovely gentleman take us through their fine tea collection. I personally had no idea there was so much detail and depth into the history & flavours of various teas, but it was really interesting to learn about.

We were shortly presented with grand silver stands filled with mouth watering savoury & sweet treats. We began with an array of delicious finger sandwiches, that honestly with every single bite created a burst of rich flavours in my mouth. They tasted more like intricately made hors d'oeuvres rather than sandwiches. It was hard to choose just one favourite out of the five options, but I would have to say it was a tie between, the coronation chicken and the salmon with lemon dill butter. Both were so divine I had to order more !

Now, being British I've had my fair share of scones, I was eating scones before I could walk ( slight exaggeration) but you get my point. So to satisfy my sweet tooth with what I can say is one of the best scones I've ever had, is of no exaggeration. Their clotted cream is rich and creamy, which balances out the sweetness of the raisins in the scone. Then paired with scrumptious strawberry jam & lemon curd preserves had me in a dessert dream. I'd recommend having your hot tea with the scones, the two together create a delicious combination.

To top off this already decadent afternoon, we chose to finish with one of their extravagantly displayed cakes. It's hard to find a decent English dessert out of the UK, so to finally have a bite of cake that satisfies that long desired craving is like no other feeling. I recommend trying the Victoria Sponge ( it's their most popular cake) served with a perfectly moist sponge, fresh vanilla cream and a raspberry jam filling. The Battenberg cake was also another favourite, this one not only looked super cool but tasted delicious.

Everything in combination was of such a high quality. The service was exceptional, the staff were very helpful and friendly, it made the entire experience all the more delightful. Not to mention the breathtaking view of the Bur Khalifa and the Dubai Fountains from the Fortnums balcony. There is special sentiment and no other experience like having an afternoon tea with your Mother. The grace, elegance and memories you create, bonding in such an environment can't be replicated. So regardless of Mothers Day, everyday should be a celebration. Take your Mother and Sister for a gorgeous afternoon at this exquisite tea house and leave.
